21st Annual Sports Meet -2023

The Annual Sports Meet 2023-24 was held with great zeal and enthusiasm, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among students. The event provided a platform for students to exhibit their athletic talents and teamwork skills. The theme of the meet was based on the 17 SDGs passed on G 20 which stand as a testimony to the global and national goals. The Annual Sports Meet commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony marked by the welcoming of the revered dignitaries of the day. The mellifluous strains of the DAV GAAN, adorned with eloquent verses and lyrical grace, enraptured the very essence of our hallowed institution's spirit. The school choir, a harmonious tapestry of celestial voices woven together, serenaded our souls with a symphony that echoed the melodies of symphony, evoking an ethereal resonance that lingered in everyone’s hearts. Esteemed Principal Madam – Dr. Sujata Sahu who illuminated the luminary achievements of our school on both the days, painting a vivid portrait of excellence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to academic and extracurricular brilliance. The precision and fervour in the execution of the school march past showcased an impressive display of discipline, unity, and the resounding rhythm of our collective pride marching in unison. The flag of the momentous occasion was unfurled and the Annual Sports Meet was declared Open by the esteemed Chief Guest of the day. The igniting of the Olympic torch by our energetic athletes – Jagjit Pradhan , Manyata Singh and Sai Swaroop symbolized the commencement of the various sporting events. The recitation of the Olympic oath was administered by the Sports Secretary. The event's mascot, the vibrant Red Panda, adorned the occasion with its charismatic presence, gracefully weaving a tapestry of awareness about its conservation through its charm and captivating spirit, painting the frame of consciousness with eloquent hues of positivity and goodwill. The event also witnessed the felicitation of the meritorious achievers for the session 2023-24. The Chief Guest of the day – Shri Amitabh Thakur – IPS Transport Commissioner Odisha , was graciously honoured and presented with a token of heartfelt appreciation, a symbol woven with gratitude and admiration, embodying our profound thanks for his distinguished presence and invaluable contribution to our event's success. The Chief Guest's eloquent and insightful address resonated as a beacon of wisdom and inspiration, illuminating our hearts with profound insights and leaving an indelible impression of enlightenment and motivation. The house drills based on the SDGs demonstrated a commendable fusion of discipline, coordination, and spirited enthusiasm, painting a vivid canvas of unity and preparedness within the vibrant spectrum of our school's spirited community. Shri Brijesh Kumar Ray – IPS and Additional Commissioner of Police graced our valedictory ceremony as the esteemed Chief Guest, infusing the event with his distinguished presence, wisdom, and an aura of profound inspiration, adding an iridescent touch of honour to our cherished occasion. 

The thrilling 4 x 100 meter relay race for both boys and girls encapsulated the essence of athleticism, painting a canvas of pulsating energy and spirited competition, where each stride and baton exchange spoke volumes about determination and synchronized excellence. The relay race organized for the supporting staff was a heartwarming testament to inclusivity and camaraderie, fostering a jubilant atmosphere of unity and appreciation. The march past during the valedictory ceremony was an impeccable showcase of discipline and precision, a mesmerizing display that resonated with flawless coordination and dignified poise, painting a vivid tableau of our collective pride marching in perfect harmony. The Chief Guest's speech in the Valedictory Ceremony was an illuminating beacon of wisdom, stirring inspiration, and profound insights, casting a radiant glow that invigorated our spirits and enriched our appreciation for the values of sportsmanship and dedication. The felicitation of the Champions of all the Sports Events started with the presentation of Shri Sarat Chandra Misra Memorial Award which was conferred upon the School Leader – Reesha Mishra. The felicitation of all four houses for their outstanding performances in the sports events radiated an aura of celebration and acknowledgment, honouring their unwavering dedication, sportsmanship, and collective effort in a glorious mosaic of triumph and unity. In the Relay Race for boys , Mayitreyi house bagged the Champion’s Trophy with Gargi House and Apalla House as the First and Second Runners up respectively. Similarly, in the relay race for Girls, Gargi House bagged the Champion’s Position, with Maitreyi House and and Sikata House as the First and Second Runners Up respectively. The eagerly anticipated felicitation of the year's best houses became a moment of utmost pride and applause. 

Sikata House soared high as the beacon of athletic prowess and was felicitated as the best house in Sports Activities. Apalla House shone brightly in literary pursuits being felicitated as the best house in literary activities. Gargi House exemplified unwavering discipline and was declared as the best house in Discipline, and Maitreyi House which marched with unmatched grace and precision, was declared as the best house in Marchpast , painting a mosaic of excellence that adorned our cherished institution with resplendent glory and distinction. 

The felicitation of our beloved mascot, the Red Panda, was a jubilant celebration of its endearing charm and captivating presence. Adorned with appreciation, the Red Panda stood as an emblem of awareness, weaving a tapestry of joy and positivity that enriched our event with its spirited essence. With a sense of solemnity and accomplishment, the Sports Meet drew to a close as the fluttering flag was gracefully lowered with the Slow March, symbolizing the end of spirited competitions and the culmination of moments brimming with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unforgettable memories. 

As the Sports Meet drew to a close, the celebrations continued with the joyous spirit of Christmas permeating the air. The School Cabinet extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas, spreading cheer and goodwill among all. Adding a touch of whimsy and delight, Sarbadaman Sir adorned the role of Santa Claus, sprinkling the magic of the season with heartfelt wishes for joy and happiness, enveloping everyone in the festive embrace of the holiday spirit. The Annual Sports Meet concluded on a high note, leaving behind memories of competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and shared camaraderie among the students. The event was a testament to the school's commitment to fostering holistic development through sports and extracurricular activities.
